GDPR and First Aid with The Yorkshire Ambulance Trust

During the 5th ACHIEVE session with Sasha from Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust , we covered GDPR and equality.

In the first part of the morning, we explored GDPR, focusing on how to maintain it and protect against breaches.

The second half addressed Equality, where we reviewed the nine protected characteristics (race, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, gender reassignment, marriage, and sex), and worked to identify what constitutes discrimination.

Additionally, the PIs participated in a health activity. Each participant was given a different ailment and received a plaster to treat it, which we connected to the concepts of equality and equity.

We also discussed human rights, differentiating between needs and wants.

Another big thanks to Sasha for encouraging our interns to think about the various issues surrounding First Aid!
